Background: 10% of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) are thought to be related to inherited syndromes, (MEN1, MEN4, VHL, NF1 and TSC). Growing evidence suggests, that clinically sporadic appearing pNETs can harbor germline mutations.
